Celebrate Valentines Day at l’Albatros Brassiere as Sommelier Brandon Chrostowski guides guests through sweet aphrodisiac’s and their companion dessert wines from around the world. The salon will highlight the sexiest tastes of St. Valentine’s day with four dessert courses, from tarts with fresh berries to warm chocolate cake with bitter sweet chocolate ganache paired with Port’s, Sherry’s, Tokaji’s and other sweet wines leaving guests aroused on a Sunday afternoon. The affair will also include hors d’oeuvres and live music.

Sustainability Symposium 2011: Healing Spaces

Cleveland Botanical Garden will host its 2011 Sustainability Symposium, Healing Spaces, February 4-5.

The naturally soothing qualities of gardens and planned outdoor spaces can be powerful both physically and emotionally. Throughout the Garden’s sixth annual Sustainability Symposium, home gardeners and professionals will learn from renowned national and local speakers about the valuable therapeutic properties of gardens, plants and other landscaping components, and how to make them come to life.

The Garden will hold a special session with continuing education units for green industry professionals on Friday, February 4. On Saturday, February 5, we will present a day’s worth of useful advice to home gardeners on how to create therapeutic outdoor spaces in their own yards. Anyone is welcome to attend either or both days.

Winter Farmers Market at Lucky Penny Creamery

Lucky Penny Farm will be hosting the Winter Farmers Market in partnership with Salt of the Earth Farm at Lucky Penny Creamery in Kent beginning Saturday, January 8 from 9AM-12PM at 632 Temple Ave.

The market will continue every Saturday through May 21. Join us for cheese, pierogis, grass fed beef, winter vegetables, farm fresh eggs, apples, goat milk fudge, and more.There will always be a variety of vendors, so come often and support your local farmers. Hot coffee, live music, book swap.

More farmers are welcome as space is still available. Bring a food or garden related book to swap and a market bag! The market is heated and indoors! Awesome!
